Portfolio of the Week
The Art of Minimalist Portfolio Design
Michael Ustinov
I like Michael's portfolio website for its clean, minimal design that focuses on product and technology. However, I think it could benefit from a call to action in the header. I appreciate that Michael only features two projects, which are well-built case studies, even though there are "coming soon" links for photos and about sections. This supports my belief that a portfolio website can be just two pages. A homepage and a project page. These are the essential pages to confidently share with hiring managers or clients. I also like Michael's "stash" section at the bottom of his homepage. It showcases one-off pieces, sketches, or exercises he's worked on between projects or during projects that didn't make the final cut. This adds depth to his portfolio and gives insight into his creative process.
